Good Luck.

Actually I did see it in Beijing, didn't really look for the whole suite.

I see Photoshop CS at www.ibackups.net for $99. Apparently you download it. Anybody know anything about that?

Hi

I've just ordered an OEM version of PS7 for $100 (about £75). I'm not too concerned about not having support, but after reading some of the comments here, I'm not sure I'll be legal (something I am concerned about). Can you clear this up for me - is buying the oem software illegal or is it merely unwise (the unwise I can live with)?

Thanks

This is NOT a legally licensed copy. You are paying for the right to download the software "for backup purposes." The theory is that this is supposed to be for people who already own a valid license and want to purchase a backup copy.

There is no such thing as an "OEM" version of Photoshop 7. I would consider this suspect.

I'm not for piracy, but it occurs to me that if they really didn't want you to use it they would do what Ultimatte Advantedge does... It requires a USB key (sort of reminds me of a car key).

Just my two Abes worth.

Hardware dongles are very unpopular as they add another level of complexity, another point of failure, and another source of potentially costly suport issues. As a result, VERY few consumer-software manufacturers still use them.
