I have been a photographer, or the photography field since high school(Whew that was LONG ago) But since joining this site, I have learned more about technicalities behind cameras, lenses, and photoshop then I could have ever aquired without all your great posts and tutorials. There is such a range of wonderful photographers, along with aspiring amatuers, that it would be impossible not to be inspired. Just in the past 2 years I have opened a small portrait studio in Kentucky, with a fully digital workflow(thats big for them in the sticks, they still like tinprints), and the techniques that I have learned through dpc have really made the quality of my portraits something that no one else around here offers. It has won me more friends and clients then I could have ever hoped for, and my list keeps growing. There is a fine line between enhancing, and bringing out the best in an image, and my techniques and eye for detail have been enhanced. Little things like that will seperate a portrait from a timeless capture. I just wanted to thank everyone, and this year will be my finest yet! I wish you all the best!

Black and white portraits sell well for me, and I have learned some wonderful techniques in photoshop on DPC. These are just a few that I never even looked at in the first pass, yet were enhanced in different ways, yet I like them all!

That's awesome to hear. Glad you are finding such a great success with your photography. I was in Kentucky for the first time just after Christmas and spent New Year's there. The best part for me was watching my Roman wife try to understand the KY accent which she'd never heard before. Like a deer in headlights.

Keep up the great work and best of luck for your business in '05
