Someone requested that my photo from the three challenge be validated. I have the NEF file on my hard drive and just tried uploading it. After about a half an hour on my piss-ant dial-up connection, I lost the connection probably 90% of the way through, and have to start all over again.
Is this all they need, by the way, besides the editing steps? The D70 NEF does record all info, right? I've never been able to view that in PS.

out of curiosity...why would your photo need validation?

If you win a ribbon it is standard procedure for them to ask for validation.

From the bottom of the Advanced Editing Rules
"The top-placing entries will always have proof requested so the photos can be validated by the Administrators and Site Council. "

NEF file will do. If you use something like Nikon View, you'd be able to see all info including the ISO. |

Having never won, that's news to me. Now all I have to do is keep a stinking connection for enough time. For the love of God, Sprint, I know I live in the woods but will SOMEONE run a wire out here one day so I can join the 21st Century?? I can send this info to them faster by carrier pigeon!

What would be nice is to have a location where you could FTP the file and if you do lose your connection it would pick up where it left off :)
Provided your FTP software had this option :)
This would be great for those with Dial-Up connections.

You might check your local library - they might have a better connection to make uploading large files easier - provided you could get the file onto the library computer that is.

First thing to do is to let the SC know about your problem!
Second: Copy the file to CD if you have a burner, you can then take that file to the local Library / internet cafe / someones work etc with a fast connection and upload from there.
Third: You could express post the CD, not sure if its been done before though.
Hope this helps... Bob

I guess "we" know : )
I was going to suggest CD and FedEx but the library sounds better if they'll let you do it that way. I'm pretty sure we can allow a little extra time to get the file to us. |
