I got my first validation request. I'm actually kind of flattered because I guess I accomplished what I wanted to do in the photo (don't want to give out too much info here) without spot editing etc. So I sent in the original yesterday afternoon and I'm waiting to hear back. How long does it usually take and do you hear back when it does get validated? Thanks. |

It will probably take about 3 days or so before the site council has time to sort through all the DQ requests and at that time they have to vote on whether it's a DQ or not. Yes, the first time you get this kind of request it can be a painful time (yes the wait). But if you did everything according to the rules, just sit back and relax. |

Is there any way to request an admin note on an entry before the voting starts? |

Can't confirm for you right now since I don't have any entries submitted into the current challenges. But, if I'm not mistaken once you submit a photo for the current challenge and click on it before the challenge starts you will see, I think you will see a couple of options and one of them is to add a Admin Note to it.
If I recall... |

I was thinking I would get called on it when I submitted it, I should've done that beforehand. |

I don't think so. At least I couldn't find that option when I submitted Soft Radiance. It seemed to only be there after the challenge started. Then it took a bit more than a full day for it to be validated.
Then the question is, with lots of votes before it was finally validated, how many of the droves of 1s, 2s, and 3's did I get before the validation.
It would have been nice to have it validated before the voting started. Despite the rule about not voting down such an entry, I am not sure it doesn't effect peoples votes if they think it might violate the rules.

Telehubbie -- We're working on it. Right now there are four challenges where we are verifying winners and others, and two others of challenges. Thats a lot of dq requests to vote on. :-)
Pre-challenge verification -- I can be done, sortof, but it requires communicating with the admins or SC beforehand (sortof because there is no "pre-validation" button). It's not done a lot, and sometimes it isn't any quicker than requesting it as soon as the challenge opens.

Thanks Karmat. No pressure, just wondering since I'm new to this. |

Normally it's quite quick, but mine has taken around 4 days to be verified - as yet not confirmed.
