I'm sure that by now everybody that wants an account already has one. But, if not, I have 50, make that 48, invites to blow through... PM me if you want one.

EDIT: Instead of PM, email me at hokie99cpe at gmail.com. Next 48, or so, get invites...

What are the benefits of having a gmail account?
The impression I have got from listening to various gmail account holders to date is that they feel like they have some kind of badge of kudos because it is an invite only thing but...
...I have to assume there must be more advantages over regular email services than that?
Would genuinely be interested to know, many thanks.

I am not sure about all the features, but what I find useful
1. mails grouped on 'Conversation' basis, like in MS outlook
2. Labels.. One email can have multiple labels, but only one copy exits in memory. No other email client supports that ( in my knowledge )
3. Very effective email search
4. 1GB space

so far this much....if I fogot anything, I will add.

'k, thanks.
Nothing that I find myself yearning for so probably not worth my having yet another email account but thanks for clarifying.

Atleast these features made every other email provider in the market to go back and think about their services and enhance them to stay in the competition :P

edit: typo

Personally, I like the style of the interface. I have never felt comfortable with they Yahoo interface and I get way too much spam to my hotmail accounts for them to be useful.

Also, 42 invites left. Just let me know... hokie99cpe at gmail.com

Another very usefull feature is the very precise SPAM filter. It is the best free email service I've been using so far.
