I have a Digital Rebel and I just tried to shoot in .raw but the output is something called .crw? Anyone have any ideas whats going on, and what do to?

Yes. The CRW is the raw file. It looks like a sheet of paper before it is opened. Simply select the CRW and open it in Photoshop for post-shot proccesing and convert it to your favorite file format.

For some reason the photoshop I have won't recognize it and won't open it. It should just do it automatically right?

Photoshop CS will open it in Camera RAW which comes with CS.

If you are using PS 7 then you need a plugin for RAW processing.

Any other version of PS cannot handle RAW files and you have to use something else. The Canon software is a start but there are better alternatives though not free.
