I know a lot of you have become i9900 owners, and I got one myself 2 weeks ago. Now that so many peeps have it, what paper are you finding works the best?
Haven't tried Canon paper, 'cause I can't find it locally. I tried printing on some Kodak, and it was horrible. Ilford is pretty good, some HP papers are pretty good, but I am interested in what you think is giving you the absolute best print results. I'm not blown away by the results I am getting, yet.
(I did search the forums for this topic, but couldn't find anything that really covered it, so if I missed it, point me to it!)

I just got one too. So far I've tried...
HP which was awful,
Epson which was average,
Canon pro paper is excellent, but pricey and hard to find (I ordered some from Adorama)
Others have mentioned the Costco brand and gave it high marks, I have yet to try it. |

I don't know about the 9900, but on my Canon S750, which has been so good to me since buying it to try a canon when my Epson 1200 died prematurely, I find:
- Epson Matte Paper to be superb.
- Hammerhill Jet Print Photo paper, Brilliant Gloss Extra Heavy Weight to also be incredibly good.
- Epson Photo paper (720 dpi) to be very good for drafts and general use
The two Epson papers above are also very (relatively) inexpensive!
(I was starting to say that I only bought this printer to "try" Canon. But it has been so good and trouble free, no clogs like the epson and incredible photo printing for a 4 color printer, that I've not been able to justify the expense of a new printer. But when I do, it will be the high end Canons!

I have had very good luck with Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper 8.5x11 and the Brilliant Supreme L Luster 11x17 Paper (available at Calumet) on the i9900. I have been less than thrilled with the Epson Glossy paper. |

I use the i9100, but love the Ilford Galerie Classic Pearl!! Outstanding!!
Second would be the Canon papers...they are made for this ink.

I have been "testing" the Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl, and Classic Pearl, and so far, out of all the papers, I am most pleased with these. Plan to try to get my hands on some Canon paper tomorrow.

I got a good deal on some Epson Luster and so far it's the best paper I've tried. I also tried the Canon Photo Paper Pro and even though the prints are nice and sharp you can see imperfections in the paper itself. The Kodak Premium Picture Paper seems to be comparable or better IMHO. I'm not a fan of high-gloss in any case. I'm hearing really good things about Ilford Galerie Classic Pearl - I've got some on back order from cameracanada.com so hopefully I get it soon. Red River seemed to have a good name also.
