Ok
We're talking about 2 different things here. Or, rather, you're all talking about one thing and I'm talking about something quite different. I didn't notice the concentric rings in helgi's pic until I saw Labuda's and checked again.
The thing that's bothering me is something entirely different. Will post pics soon.

What is bothering me is this:

and here is 100% crop of that blob

More in my port at Blobs
This is not a isolated instance, has happened a few times. Shot at wide open (F/1.4) ISO 100 for 2 sec.
And I'm fairly sure I remember correctly that at this time I let the camera autofocus on a (far) distant streetlight and then turned the AF off to make sure I was on inf.
