Hmmmmmm... I don't.
I give all my friends 10s if I know what their image is.

I've noticed Kylie. Both actual entires as well as similar shots before the challenge. If I remember (recognize) them during voting I tend to penalize them a bit. Maybe not fair but I think it is off base to feel the audience out before the entry. I'm ok for sharing with friends for comment by e-mail (not public)but not the public forums here. Same as having someone else work on your photo. It is ok to ask someones opinion but do the work yourself. |

I'd like to know who told you that, and in what context?
Of course it gives you an advantage to be able to do a "trial run" before entering a shot. That's indesputable.
I haven't seen this kind of activity but anyone who does ought to point it out to the SC and also in these forums. Perhaps a good public hashing out of the issue would serve to curtail this.
There are very few challenges where you really need to use a model to fit the topic.

What is "allowed" is to post your photo on another site before/during the challenge, or to email it to someone.
You should not post any current or potential entries, or links to them, here in the DPC forums. If you wish to ask a question or get an opinion from an individual DPC or family member/friend/etc., please do so via PM or email, so that the image is not broadcast to the DPC community at large until the voting starts. |
