As many of you know, when I'm not shooting Steelers games (and unfortunately the Patriots made sure I'm done with that this year! :)... I am also Punxsutawney Phil's webmaster.

With Groundhog Day coming up this Wednesday, I've gotten many requests for photos from a variety of newspapers, magazines and TV stations these last couple weeks.

I thought I'd post a list of some of the places that are supposedly using some of my photos this week (or this month...). Some of these folks may have already used shots in their weekend papers, as well.

I'd really appreciate hearing from any DPC'ers who live in these areas if they happen to see any of my shots in their local publications... otherwise I usually have no way of knowing whether they were used or not. And besides, it gives my fragile ego a much-needed boost! :)

Anyway... here's most of the list. I tried to weed out some of the high school/college papers, etc:

The West Branch Review, Clearfield County, PA - 1/26/05
The Easton Chronicle, Easton, PA 1/28/05
The Mudcat, 2/2/05
The Choctaw Advocate, Alabama, 2/1/05
Lake Hamilton Voice, Hot Springs, AR 1/25/05
Wildlife Express, 2/05
Chippewa Notes, Sault Ste Marie MI, 2/16/05
Standard-Examiner, Ogden, UT, 1/30/05

Kleine Zeitung, Graz/Austria, 2/2/05
Wisebuy News, Fort Worth, FL 2/05

Rebel Review, Franklin, TN, 1/24/05
The Daily Gnus, Alexandria, VA 2/5/05
Great Falls Tribune, Great Falls, MT, 2/2/05
The Emporia Gazette, Emporia, KS, 1/29/05
Cox Publications/The Chowan Herald, Edenton NC, 2/1/05
Press Publications, Minnesota, 2/1/05
KWCH-TV, Wichita, KS, 2/2/05 (morning news show)
The Advocate of Eldersburg & Sykesville, Eldersburg & Sykesville, MD, 2/2/05
Eastern Echo, Ypsilanti, MI, 2/2/05

Thanks in advance!

Hey Alan... Im from Robinson Twp. near the burgh, but My second home is in Punxy. A lot of my landscape photo's are from there. I haven't decided if I will be attending this year.

I will definitely be looking forward to seeing some of your photo's if I don't make it.

H'ok ... excuse my ignorance, and maybe I am about to make a complete ass of myself but ...

Is the groundhog thing for real then?

I imagined it was just something made up for that rather excellent film.

The groundhog is real. The ceremony is real. The proclomation that they read however is not lol. It's a 50/50 chance on wether or not he sees his shadow. The inner circle...the guys wearing the black top hats, randomly chose if he sees his shadow or not.
