Does anyone have any advice about specifically online portfolios? I'm trying to put together a portfolio and was wondering what the common practices are? I know all about the theory of putting together a paper portfolio, but am not at all sure if the same rules apply for online ones. Does anyone here have an online portfolio they use to show to potential employers etc? What resolution do you rescale the images to, if at all? How many images do you show? Do you use a gallery that allows different levels of scaling, or do you just resize to one size and link the thumbs to that one size only? Do you put a standard border around your images, or border them individually according to the image, or not at all? What colour background do you use, black, gray or other? What information do you provide alongside the individual images, if any? How much do you postprocess the images, and do you ever spot edit (cloning out blemishes etc), or is that cheating? Do you watermark the images, or do you think that detracts from the quality? Also, do you provide a wide range of images to suit all purposes, or do you match the portfolio to the individual job, or do you link to a variety of portfolios (a wildlife one, a landscapes one, etc)?

Please feel free to post links to your own portfolio and explain why you decided to set it up how it is...
