As nsbca7 said, the 828 isn't a dSLR. The 828 is a great camera though, but it's not fair or realistic to compare it to a different type of camera technology.
Just ignore the folks who are telling you that your 828 isn't as good as the D70/Rebel. Go out and take some great photos with it, and let that be your reply..

I guess that the people who are asking you to compare your 828 to the D60 and 300D - dont actually know what a SLR is.

photos are not about how good your camera is but yes how good you see things and the way you capture them...
