Thanks for all who commented on my "Pansy" in the Natural Numbers challenge. Many did not see the "3" on the right hand side - this was definately the photographer'd problem. I had several suggestions for improvement:
- background color
- sharper focus
- tighter crop
I upgraded my "studio" and reshot a similar pansy and reprocessed the original.
Please look at my profile in the recent psots and let me know if these show off the "3" better.

I think they are all good shots, the new ones do not show the three anymore then the original, IMO. I think the only way to make it show more would be to crop the left side to center the three.

P.S. you can't click on the above links because they are linked to your edit portfolio.
I see you changed the links:)

If you look better one half is 1 and other is 6 which makes 16, good job!

I don't like the black background as much, personally.
Other than that I think I prefer the shot as you took it - with more negative space around the pansy - though the actual positioning of the original shot within the frame isn't too strong.
I think the 3 does stand out very well in the context of the Natural Numbers challenge and confess I am a little baffled that anyone could miss it given they were viewing the image KNOWING what the challenge was.
I found the 16 less obvious though, so perhaps those who saw it as a 16 found the 3 equally subtle!
But either way it wasn't hard to see a number!
