I submitted a picture I'm not happy with. What's wrong with me? I procrastinated and couldn't come up with a good idea. Finally, I came up with a good idea but with insufficient amount of time to properly execute it.. and the end result is pretty bad. Bash away tomorrow morning.. I'm expecting it.
This is what I get for going camping the better part of the week and coming home Sunday night expecting to be productive. Hah. |

You're not alone... I too just returned from camping hoping to use something I shot earlier in the week or be inspired by something new. I may still come up with something, but I know time is definitely NOT on my side!

Didn't get the shot I really wanted either. I wanted to get an outdoor shot at a playground (I can reveal that now, seeing as that it's night in most places. lol) I wanted to get a photo of the merry go round. anyway, crappy weather all week, so that shot my photo. was forced to go with an indoor shot that was my "last resort" shot. I'm still very happy with it, but just hope, since it is something from MY childhood, that it wont get the big "does not meet challenge". Well all, got a few more comments left to make. I slacked off and went clubbing last night. LOL. 2 more hours left! Have fun and GOOD LUCK IN THE CHALLENGE. ~Heather~ |

I really wanted a night shot of a tent lit from within by flashlights and close enough to a house (with trash cans in the background) to know that it's camping in your own backyard. Unfortunately, I had my heart set on a triangle-shaped pup tent -- the kind I had as a kid -- and all I could find were dome shapes. May still have worked, but I didn't bother trying since it would not have been my heart's shot. Cheesy I know. Eventually I'll make that shot anyway!

Not cheesy at all. You wouldn't have been satisfied with your shot and since you have to look at it all week, it wouldn't have worked out. Not the way it was suposed to. |

Hi all;
Well here I am waiting to see the new challenge topic.......My photo for childhood has been on the site since Wednesday night and I am SOOOOO ready to get started on the new challenge. And, I am really really sick of looking at pencils. I was so easy this week. I had one good idea, took a couple hours to shoot it and it went from the camera to the web with only a contrast adjustment and resizing. This is just not normal. Usually I spend days on different ideas, get three or four shots ready for submission and then choose the wrong one to submit. Now if I just don't get shot down. Sometimes all is not as it seems.....
To hbunch: Your personal profile is so cute and it inspired me to add to my profile and include a picture.
Thanks, Shar

I've been on the road for almost two weeks and haven't had a chance to vote on the pencil challenge -- this is the fist challenge I haven't voted on all the pictures; sorry everyone -- I'll try and go back an add some comments this week. I did manage to submit a photo for the upcoming challenge, and should be back to voting by the middle of the week. |

Done! I barely submitted in time, but I just HAD to get one in. I hate not having a shot to check up on during the week ;o) I had to rummage around in my grandfather's attic for a little while today to find the props, but I only spent about 45 minutes setting the whole thing up, shooting, and getting it online. I just hope people don't get hung up on one or two faults like they did on my pencil shot. Yes, I KNOW there are annoying shadows! *lol* I used an antique desk lamp for lighting, and I didn't notice them until I got the pic on the computer. By then I had taken my hair down and was too "over it" to care though. |

Well, I didn't get around to taking a childhood shot, so I'm sitting out this week. Ah well.
The image I had in mind by the end involved a daisy chain and some drawings in the dirt with sticks. It just kept recurring in my mind as the kind of thing I used to do as a kid whenever I was bored and sitting around in the playground or whatever. But it was raining all weekend anyway :/. Ah well, next week. |

I didn't get one in either, this week. I just wasn't inspired to do something that I'm sure a few other people wouldn't have done. Plus I was just too busy reloading the home page to watch my score for the Pencil challenge. ;) I got lucky with that one.

Well, I submitted a lame photo, unsubmitted and then submitted another. It wasn't great either, and it is showing. Lowest score ever!(awesome!) Shouldn't have submitted. Sorry 'guys'. ;(

I liked the "After the Doctor 1" shot. Good lighting and color.
