Anyone have any suggestions on books for lighting, especially for portrait photography? Also, If anyone knows of any tutorials online, that would also be helpful.

Search the forums and your find lots of threads about books. Here's info on one I posted the other day.
Here is a really good book on lighting in different portrait situations. It actually includes fashion and glamour settings as well, but there is a lot of valuable lighting information.
Photographing People: Portraits-Fashion-Glamour
It will show a photo and then break down the lighting setup for that photo. Excellent book!

I am reading Master Lighting Guide for Portrait Photographers and it is pretty good. There is a whole series of these books. Posing may be the next I get.

Maybe I should write book reviews being as I own every photo book ever printed.
For a beginner lighting book I would recomend "Portrait Photography-Secrets of Posing & Lighting" . It goes over a ton of styles of lighting. If someone wants to learn the tech stuff "essential skills- photographic lighting" goes over all the numbers ratios and lots of stuff you dont really need to know but should.

I recommend two books that illustrate high key and low key lighting for portraits.
Lighting Techniques for High Key Portrait Photography] by Norman hillips
Lighting Techniques for Low Key Portrait Photography] by Norman Phillips
And here's a book on the topic of "posing" which many portrait photogs struggle with.
Posing for Portrait Photography: A Head-to-Toe Guide
