If anyone would like to take the time, I would appreciate a little more feedback on my Architecture entry and thoughts about my outtakes in comparison. Thanks in advance. Your suggestions always help me improve.

I think you had some great lines in that photo, and some nice colors. Of the photos that were similar to yours, I think some of them were a bit more dramatic, and perhaps had deeper contrast and color. That might have edged them ahead of yours in the voting.
Of the outtakes, I like the other two of the same building. Shows a bit of the surrounding environment.
I think your entry was better than the last two for sure. The Colcord, because of the color of the building, really reflected a lot of light and to me looks too hot.
The Myriad Gardens shot is pretty cool. The only thing that bothers me is the bottom seems a bit busy and scattered with the trees, but it's an interesting subject. I think you made the right choice for your entry, it was a good photo. |

Thanks Robert. I leaned heavily toward the first outtake, but my husband liked the entry. I sometimes listen to him just to shake things up :)
Oh yeah, I agree about the last shot. I really wanted to do that building, but I just couldn't find an uncluttered angle.
Any other opinions?

Of the 5 shown, the actual entry is the stromngest for the purity of its composition. It's quite subtle, actually. I gave it an 8. There is a weird symmetry to it, draw a line stright down the middle and see what I mean. The more vertical outtake is nice also, the other 3 nowhere near as strong. The Colcord building shows no sensitivity to lighting whatsoever in this particular shot, though I recognize it was likely just a "scouting" shot.
But the actual image entered is very nice. I'd have expected it to finish higher than it did, by some significant amount. In the top 30, say...
