Size of image for portfolio - DPChallenge Forums

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM

What is the maximum width in pixels of an image that can be placed in the portfolio section? Is it 640? And if so, then the max height is 640 as well?

Or is this limitation just for challenges?

Yes all image on this site are at maximum (witch or height) at 640. There have been suggestions of increasing this size, or just portfolio image sizes.

also, is the size limit 150kb for portfolio as well? Or can they be larger in bite size?

I think for the portfolio the file size can be bigger, they just limit your total byte allotment for all your images.

portfolio images can be whatever size one wants, however they will be scaled down to 150ks anyway. So there is not much point in having bigger files, plus they take up more space which then limits your portfolio to less images.

So if I understand correctly, I can have images up to 640 pixels in each direction, and they can be larger than 150K.
