Judy (jpochard) and I met at the IceFest last night to take a couple of images. I froze, and she didn't seem to notice. Maybe she'll post a couple here, also.

Brrrrr...yep, I noticed! However, two layers of pants, socks, several upper layers, gloves, and scarf kept me warm enough. Wasn't as cold this year as it was last year.
I just got back in the house from being uptown all day to view the competition portion of the Icefest. The sculptures will be up there a while, I'm sure. I'm just sitting down to go through the shots (about 250 altogether from last night and today) so I think I'll be able to post a few here shortly.
It was great meeting you and your wife! We'll get together again sometime I'm sure.
I like your bear shot. That flower vase was my favorite of the smaller sculptures. |

Maybe I should have entered this one in "faceless"?

Okay...here are some from last night. I haven't finished all of them yet, and I haven't even started on today's yet. By the way, the theme this year was "Circus On Ice" which is why you'll see so many clowns and such as sculptures.
For those who might be interested in ice sculptures, I have a whole file of them in my portfolio from the last 3 years of Icefest - and will be adding as I go through and edit this year's.
Comments very much appreciated and welcome! |

You got my best side, too!
It's fun seeing our different takes on the same things. Your peacock came out better defined than mine did. I like the peace sign, but don't remember seeing it.
Must have been after I copped out...

I rather like your peacock shot...with bits of blue light it adds interest. I'll have trouble picking out the two I want to enter into the photo contest.
This one is a possibility, but I'm not sure yet. It was a tough one to get a decent photo of. It's a large one, down by the Gov't building:

So far, that's my favorite. Nice colors and sharpness. The textured foreground adds a nice contrast to the ice.
