How do you turn off the flash on the Canon 20D when shooting in the Macro and portrait modes in low light situations. Thank you.

Use any of the modes except full auto and don't put the flash up. Try P (Program) mode.

Thanks, I have done that but was just wondering if it could be done in Macro or Portrait modes.

After you press the shutter half way, the flash pops up....continue to hold the shutter halfway, and just push the flash back down. The shutter speed will compensate accordingly.
