I woke up this morning, and was really blown away. I think it's awesome how many people are willing to catch a falling 'star'. Thanks to everyone for their kind, honest words. I doubt I will ever quite shooting, just as I never quite making music. It seems more rewarding reading all the heart felt posts regarding my discontent than to win the adoration of millions. I know you folks are alot more intellegent than you let yourselfs believe.
It's easier to let the scores go knowing that it's not me people are disliking, only my vision. I think alot of us seek the approval of those around us, which makes this site so hard. I really have no doubt that I could 'fool' avg people who are not artists, or photographers with 'great images'. But this site, full of aspiring talent and some veteran influences, it's hard to fake it. It's almost like, joining this site puts you way up there... I.E. People here know their stuff, you can't fake it here. This is a great place to see where you really fit. I guess it's up to us to accept or change that.

Hey all, I just started my first ever vacation and I've decided to get back to my 'roots' and just point the camera at whatever looks neat. I'll post anything I have when I come back
PS Not sure where I'm going,,, maybe Cripple Creek Colorado..

the whole point was that he does care what others think ... and entering every challenge could cure that. a single challenge doesn't hold nearly as much weight when you are entered in at least 2 per week. |
I shoot for me. If I don't have fun at whatever I do then I ask why do it??? and maybe the pressure of "having" to enter all the chalenges or as many as he can is making his photography suffer or appear sub-standard. All I say is have fun with what you do and to hell with everybody else.
