My mom took some pictures that I played around with in photoshop to work a for couple days. A few ladies that my mom works with told her that they want to buy some of them from me. They aren't really anything special, I've just started playing with photoshop so it was just me practicing. What should I do with them?
I was thinking do these for free or whatever the cost of printing them is because it is minimal, just kind of a "get the word out" thing. What would you guys suggest?

Put 'em on DPCPrints for a slight markup, and send those ladies a link.

I say charge.

My best friend's wife started her own business as a hairdresser but she had to quit...why? Because she gave out one or two freebies or deals and suddenly everybody she remotely knew wanted free service.

Charge a minimal amount for a print...I'd say $8-$10.

Edit: scalvert's idea is even better! Less work for you and it takes you out of the equation...

what would you say about like $10 if I printed it and was able to find a cheaper frame or something for it?

A bargain...I'd say that sounds good, but no frame or else you're going to start losing money! Let them pick (and buy) the frame...

thatcloudthere, I think this is one of them that they were looking at...do you think it is honestly print worthy though. I just never think anything I come up with is any good...

Crap I just lost my post...

Let me recap what I said:

- Will probably be okay as a small print (4x6, 5x7) but anything larger and it will be poor quality because of the soft focus (perhaps it's camera shake?)
- I'm not usually a fan of supernatural colours in prints and if I'm being critical, the sky is too blown out for my taste. But I'm looking at it as a photographer. Your Mom's friends look at it and they find it pleasing to the eye...that's all that matters. You'll improve, especially if you keep posting in the forums here and reading what others have to say...
- Your fan photo in your portfolio definitely shows a good eye for lines which I think would make a neat print if there was a little more contrast to make the whites a bit whiter...

Thanks for the feedback guys, it is greatly appreciated! One of the ladies has a purple bathroom so that is the reason for the color. I was just trying to see if I could come up with something she might like. The sky is blown out, I was trying to capture the bench along the path so I didn't really pay attention. once again thanks guys!

I don't believe that you should be constantly looking to make money.

It was just something you were fooling around with and it cost you nothing (time is money when it's your business, not when you're just hanging out).

If anyhting just be flattered, take $5 for printing or whatever, and be happy they didn't tell you your work looked like sh*t.

I'd say go for it before they change their minds. Only let them get their own frames.
