Well i've made the plunge and spent the money on a Canon 500D 52mm Macro lens/filter. It's hardly a lens, more like a filter but i've heard great things about it. I bought one of Bernies Coolfix adapters that snap onto the front of the Nikon5700 lens. I have the lens now I'm just waiting for the adapter to hook it up to the camera. I'll be posting some shots with and with out the lens for everyones enjoyment, as I know it would have helped me if I had more of those.

I think you'll be satisfied with the results. The 500D is a two-element design, far superior to the uncorrected single-element cheapies.
