Would this have scored me higher than 5.6?

Probably not better than 6.6, no. Not much punch to the image.

Thanks for your response. Did you mean not better than 5.6? I'd be really happy with a 6.6. :D |

I don´t seem to have a clue on what the scores should be on the bokeh challenge but personally the image doesn´t really do anything for me but it´s nice and meets the challenge, I think I would give it a 6. |

I would have scored this lower than I scored your actual entry.

I like your actual entry much better because it looks to be in a more natural setting. The one in this thread looks to be sitting on a table and doesn't have that ambient interest. |

No... the reason is that the image is simply soft focused. Good bokeh adds significant value the main subject and is primarily associated with how backgound points of light display in the image.
The second place finisher in the that challenge has the best bokeh IMHO.

Ooooookay then. I guess I made the right choice. I really liked my submission, in an artsy way, but I didn't look at all the shots for that shoot until after the challenge started.
Thanks for posting. |

Both shots were natural, outside and attached to the plant. The extreme background in both photos is the same trees off in the distance. Interesting. Thanks. |
