Paul Mccartney will be playing the halftime show.

I dont think there will be any "wardrobe malfunctions" this year.

I know I wont be watching halftime lol

Yeah, that's the thing about talent...it can save you the trouble of showing your nipple on national television!

I mean nothing bad about Paul, just I dont think its the type of music that should be played during halftime. They need upbeat tempos, etc.

Yeah, I completely agree...he's probably not going to be able to create a lot of hype like Aerosmith, etc.

It's a political move on the part of the NFL to ensure families across America that last year's halftime show is not what they're about...

OK, even as a kid, I knew that someday the Beatles songs would be played as oldies. But I really didn't think I'd see the day that Paul McCartney wouldn't be a draw for a live song or two on national TV. I'm not being critical to those posting before me, but that just hit me like a freight train! (I agree on avoiding the wardrobe malfunction, BTW!) Wrong tempo, political move - whoa, where have I been the past 2 decades?

At the risk of sounding even more like an old fart, if you guys sit still for a few minutes and watch his half-time show, I doubt you'll be disappointed. OK, he's not Justin or Janet - but sometimes that's a good thing!

I'm certainly not complaining about Paul...like I said, he has loads of talent!

I am a bit surprised by the decision, because the NFL seems to have changed it's mind on which demographic they want to keep...

Paul McCartney
One of the most talented and absolutely most prolific songwriters of the 60's and 70's. Not upbeat? Gimme a break....haven't listened to his music if you say that.
Yes he is old. His music, like your pictures... remain always as they are.
As good today as yesteryear.

This guy has made his bones and has more talent than today's "stars" could ever hope for which is why you'll see a performance...not a classless display from a couple of spoiled no-talents...who cleave to ragmags and stunts to prop their careers. Paul's career was built on talent.

:-) Hey, I've become my father!

I believe McCartney played during the pregame show a few years ago so he must have had positive feedback to be asking him back to play the halftime show. I agree with you mike about the demographic though. There is probably a ton of kids who are going to say, "Paul Who?" I for one will be happy that it isnt Janet Jackson or Britney Spears or something similar but then again I am not the demographic. As far as upbeat goes, he has some upbeat stuff, I am sure the producers behind this are smart enough to keep the show upbeat.
