Are any of you other fugi s602z owners having issues with the focus? I am. And advise?

I find it to be pretty accurate except, as noted, in low light -- a problem that has been known since it came out last year.

What is your problem?
It has trouble focusing in low light on subjects with too little contrast variations (I often use a 55mm lens cap in the focussing stage and focus on the edge with the subject to work around this).
In every other case it has focussed well on the subject I pointed it at. If the main subject is out of focus it is often my fault because I focussed on the wrong point. And it focusses very fast, I could even get a good lock on a running dog while moving the camera. The other focus problem I have is camera shake, the camera focusses correct, but I shake it so much that the image looks soft.
So please, what problem did you experience? I also left a note on your egg pic.

Like the others who responded, I also have experienced soft focus in low light situations. I compensate, when doing a still life, by adding more light to the actual scene. By playing with shutter speed and aperture, I can obtain a picture that looks like less light than actual reality.
A lot of my focussing problems were resolved when I started using a tripod. I also use the self-timer a lot to eliminate camera shake when clicking the shutter.

I'm probably about to buy one - and I notice it has a diopter adjustment dial on it, to allow correction for those with eyesight issues. You haven't managed to set that inadvertently, have you? The a shot that looked OK on the viewfinder wou not be in focus in reality?
You had me worried though - glad to hear all these positive comments.
