I get this comment to my pic: "I'm not sure everyone understands the title."

Does the title mean a lot for the evaluation?

To some people, yes, the title is a part of the whole image.

I would say that if your photos needs the title then it could be a problem, if the photo can stand on its own then I would not think it will hurt its scoring.

Well, I just borwsed thru every photo in thumbnail mode (already voted on 77%, though) and the only ones I can't understand are the ones in a foreign language. I'd say the only time a title would lower a score is if the photo is abstract, or you couldn't tell what's in the photo w/o the assistance of a title.
