Could anybody please walk me through the steps in posting a bio photo on my user page.
I have taken my pre-existing pictures and resized them to the exact specs as requested(120x90) but I keep geeting a picture that looks like its steped on.
I have been using PS Elements 2.0 for my editting software.
Anybody that could walk me through the process it would be greatly appreciated, please use baby steps with me Im still learning.

Does it look "steped on" when you upload it here or while you are still editing it?

Right after I re-size it. I took off My original photo after a comment about the image appearing "squished".

don't resize it to 120x90. use the cropping tool and set 120x90 as your constraints. |

Try this... select the crop tool, set the dimensions to 120 px wide and 90 px tall. Drag it across your image until you have the crop you want. Hit enter. Does it still looked "squished"?

don't forget the pic needs to be somewhere about that size...if you have a 600x600 pic to start, a 120x90 selection wil be only a small part of it.
resize the pic to 120 on the long side letting the other side remain free to resize in proportion, then you can do the 120x90 selection and get what you are after.

no, no, no! you do not want to resize. the cropping will select and scale down the image, regardless of how large it is to begin with. try it and you'll see. |

You know, I had never used the crop tool to resize on the fly like that before. That is very handy. Thanks Skip! |
