"control key" plus "mouse click" to set clone start point from where you are cloning from
move to where you are cloning too then just paint with the mouse

click here for the clone tool manual page

don't forget to select the correct brush (usally on of the fuzziy ones to get a better blend)
there are lots of options so have a look at the manual... it will make it a lot easyer to get a good result

Oh that's so good - I'm like a kid in a candy store here - now people will be able to tell my members challenge entries by the amatureish cloning attempts - it's golden :).

Thanks mate

(why the change in name anyway ?? its always better when I can recognise my fellow aussie dpc'ers).

its an aussie thing I used the 1st-2-##### name on a number of sites
but as I meet people here in Australia in the flesh they started to call me Firsty so I thought why not change it
it will make it better when i get my first blue ribon :)

Hehehe, well fair enough then. Change is as good as a holiday anyway. I don't think we have an aussie blue ribbon winner around here anyway -so let's hope it works for you!

While I'm at it - any tips on how to use the clone tool effectively. I'm going at one image in particular - and it's working pretty well, but I can still see a little splotchy area in one of the parts I've cloned.
