Exciting chance to allow us to hone our skills with Photoshop and other programs. I've spent many joyful hours creating digital layering composites that border on fantasy, sci-fi. I think there is a place for this in DPChallenge. It may not be 100% straight, pure photography, but the results from our digital images combined with our imaginations can be limitless. I for one would love to see what our members can come up with. This is an art form that we should address.

This is an area in which I wish to increase my skills as well, and this would be the perfect opportunity.

If you have not already, check out Worth1000.com -- they specialize in "photoshopped" image competitions.

Keep in mind that this is intended to be first and foremost a photography challenge. The purpose of the unlimited-editing challenge is to allow a no-holds-barred competition in which photographers can use (and hone) all their editing skills. For example, cloning would be allowed, spot-editing, as well as filters that are not normally legal in other challenges.

While the type of digital art you are referring to is legal, it has generally been predicted that such entries might not score well in a photography challenge. That said, the theory hasn't really been tested, so feel free to try and good luck!
