On a whim hubby and I decided to go to Memphis for the long weekend this weekend. Planning on doing Graceland, Beale St and Sun Studio. Any other suggestions? D70 will be in hand everywhere they'll let me take it.

On this topic, how would you go about shooting around a place like Beale Street, with all it's neon signs and night life-y stuff- at night? Just bump up the ISO and shoot hand held and noisy? Lugging a tripod in and out of clubs and up and down the street seems unlikely. Thanks in advance.

Hey Andi!

You are going to have fun there. I was just there in December. I had my ISO set at 800 for almost all my indoor shots in the studios and Graceland and the lights on Beale Street. I was just shooting snapshot reminders of the trip for the most part but most of them turned out great. Some moving subjects did blur in the dark, (Taken from a moving carriage) but some even look creative and intentional.
:)

Have a great time, I hope you will post a link to your pictures when you get back. I would love to see them.

Oh...and say hi to Elvis for me.
There are herds of Elvi there. (plural)

Great Shots Andi!
That entire town just has that old blues feel to it, doesn't it.
It's fun to see the same places shot from different angles.
I'm glad you had a great time.
