Overall that is pretty good (for me anyway). All but 1 comment are gfood, and 1 'guessed' correclty about the 'effect'. I was a touch above 5.7...this one will make my top4 though!
New goal for 2005: replace my top4 pics with new ones!

| but the photos are not at the expectations!I saw all of them and I think that we could try it much harder next time,because of that the scoring is low! |

On the other hand. I really liked my photo and I thought it would score higher. I don't feel like if I tried any harder I would produce a better photo. I think, in this instance, it is a matter of differing taste and varied expectation. |

I didn't see one picture in there, including my own, that could not have been improved in some way.

This is only my second challenge, but I'm quite disheartened really at how low my entry for this has scored. I've felt a few people has just not got it, or decided that the image doesn't relate to the movie (which it doesn't - it relates to the title) and marked very harshly.
I'll be very interested to see the voting profile, as there have only been a few comments so far, and the vast majority of them have been very positive. I just wish those who have marked it down would say why. I appreciate you can't comment on all of them, but I've tried to be constructive in my comments when giving either a very high or a very low score.
Is this a standard pattern for DPC? Are photos marked more for taste than for technical or aesthetic reasons? Or am I just whinging that my pic which I am clearly biased about is not to everyone's taste?

| everyone apreciates his own work but we must admit that our photos are bad this time!there are just two photos I liked but...it's not creative!there are milion of "clockworm oranges","two towers"...there are some photos that doesn't make sense with the movie,I thought that I placed a good photo,and everyone said to me:"AWESOME,VERY GOOD,CREATIVE...blah,blah,blah"but the score is about 5.6000!c'mon if you like it give it a 10,9,8 but if you don't,come and say to me why the marks are so bad!I don't understand those people!if you like,ok give a good mark,if you don't give bad mark but write a commentary for me to know why my pic is so bad rated! |

The photo doesn't have to make sense with the MOVIE, it has to make sense with the movie TITLE. The photo doesn't have to relate to the actual movie at all. The title just needs to be relevant to the photo. |

Agree, agree. And therein lies at least part of the explanation as to why the scores are running so low, I believe. I'm at about 4.95, am just hoping for a late surge to finish above 5. But however mine ends up, I will say that I had more fun shooting for this challenge than any other, and I can't be too disappointed considering that. |

| I'm annoyed because I got a comment saying my photo had nothing to do with the movie, and at the same time it dropped as only a vote of 1 or 2 can do. That happens to everyone all the time. How difficult is it to read the "details" section of the challenge? |

Sorry dood i disagree! as people obviously didnt see each others entrys before submitting, is it fair to say they are not creative? more like great minds think alike? Because a few people have the same train of thought doesnt detract from the ammount of effort put into setting the photos up, i cant understand why you dont appreciate that.
Also the challege clearly states "This doesn't mean your photograph has to be somehow related to the actual movie" so marking people down because you cant see how it relates... you havent understood the challenge.

At this moment it is exactly 1.01 lower than my bokeh entry. I think the problem with my photo is perspective. I shot it @ 200mm (= 300mm eqv) and now the scene lacks depth. It is to 2-dimensional.

Interesting.... There are 323 submissions and I just got my 323rd vote. I don't know that that's ever happened to me before. Just thought it was kind of neat. :-)
Still sitting at 5.09 with 3 whole comments .... so I don't expect the score to change much if at all from here on out.
Alright, so maybe the vote count isn't THAT amazing .... but I'm bored. :-)
