I think it would take a very long stint at gitmo to shut me up. Or a 20 cent bullit. Coerscion nor intimidation won't. Calling me a traiter won't either. I would be a traiter to every belief I have in freedom and human rights if I was silent, knowing what I know.

An arguement fails to be when you attack people. If you want to debate fact and figure then call me. but when you sit there and bash me because I'm american is the speaker being biased..
It's really funny how no one quoted the end of my statement where I said I'm sick of reading biased opinions about my people. Bad mouth the government all you want, but stop bashing americans.
MadMordegon, I feel that way because you're rude and obnoxious. There are more ways to get your point accross than constantly insulting people.

Magicshutter...
I fail to see what you find as so objectionable in MM's post regarding his criticism of the American lifestyle. I don't think he's attacking Americans at all, but rather bringing to light that as a nation we must begin to take responsiblity for our stewardship of the earth and our role in world politics, as well as, take a more active role in taking responsiblity for our government's actions. That's my opinion...I would like to hear what is so objectionable about that and what exactly is so objectionable to you in MM's post. You don't like the fact that he called American's arrogant? Your comparison to Hitler and anti-semitism is, imo, way off base. In addition, MM backed up his assertions with facts that you have yet to address. I found nothing in what MM had to say as obnoxious or rude.

Magicshutter...
You should know by now that you cannot reason with poeple who cannot be reasoned with. They hate America and always will. They'll claim they love it but you don't love your brother by constantly pointing out their bad points to others. The whole oil thing is such a joke and always has been. If this is a war for oil, how come gas is still $2 per gallon. The ones that say we should do without oil and change our live styles never start at their house. Point and fact is how and why would they type their posts on power hungry PC's that destroy resources to power them? They are the ones that think we can love every problem away and solve every problem with the money you and I make. They can always point the finger in a general direction but never give specifics, such as: Rights are being violated, dictator in the White House, Amercians are stingy, Americans caused the tsunami, Americans cause every problem such as global warming, Bush is going to make you pray, etc etc. You've heard it for years. They are going to get even nuttier in the next few years. And they want us to fail in Iraq. They want any policy put forward by this administration to fail even if it is sound and benefits the American people.
For those of you that pissed off now. It sucks being stereo-typed doesn't it. |

Okay, enough is enough. I am not locking this thread, yet, but as I can see, it isn't being productive and a lot of tempers are flaring. Consider this a cease and desist if you will. Talk about the website (which I didn't view, yet), but stop the hurling of personalities, please.
Thank you and have a nice day. |

No, not at all. (Shouldn't even answer since I'm not even pissed off). Maybe it's because we're quite comfortable with our moral convictions.
Edit: Oh! By the way, I don't hate America or Americans. I question the way it's being governed just as I do for any other country. I don't even hate Americans who don't agree with me. But when I see a country that supports freedom of speech bash on the unpopular speech and try to shut it down... It makes me curious as to just how much some believe in democracy.

When civilians die and innocent families destroyed they shouldn̢۪t have been in the area, serves em right!

Gusto,
I'm a Liberal... I served in the Marines for 6 years as part of an artillery unit...
I've taken an oath to serve and protect my country and constitution on more than one occasion; and, without hesitation, I would take up arms to defend America... my country. However, what Bush & Co. have led our nation into in Iraq WAS NOT and IS NOT in defense of America.
I'm always amazed to come across people like you, Gusto, that have and perpetuate such a simple and ill-informed caricature of "Liberals."

Here's a gem...
Who are they?
"Bush won, in your face liberal pussies! Get the guns out... We're having a party! Hee-Haw!"
I know this doesn't represent all Americans. I know it doesn't represent all of the Bush supporters among Americans either. But all those militia nutjobs supporting Bush would make me think twice about joining the club.

Do you notice the difference between this site and the I'm Sorry site other than the politcal orientation? Half of the c*w*rds on the Bush Won site have thier faces covered.
Me, I'm not a sorry person. I'm not a pacifist. I will tell you though that I think a 1,000 years from now when people look back in the history of great empires Bush will be in the ranks of some of the most famous Roman emperors. Great men such as Caligula, Comodus, and Nero.
PS(I'm sure few will take offence at this post as most Bush supporters, given thier avergage education level, haven't a clue as to what the hell I'm talking about.)

That's a very good comparison, really. If they would have known the existence of America, Romans would have sent troops to conquer it too. They wanted total control and invaded every country they could. Nazis did the same thing.
It takes a lot of intelligence to conduct such invasions. Lots of military tactics and so on...
But hopefully, the credit for setting up the American Empire will not be attributed to somebody as stupid as Georges W. Bush.
Seriously...

Well Nero is famous for burning down Rome, Caligula named his horse senator, comodus I'm not really familiar with what he's done... But the Romans did conquer most of Europe and Africa. Edit At some point in time.

They are famous for being the worst three Roman emperors. They did more to mis-manage and squander the empire than any other Roman leaders in it's long and often disturbed history.

Maybe it's possible that 1,800 years from now historians (who still remember those Roman emperors) will say the exact same thing about GW Bush?
Or maybe even 10 years from now?

Though the personal attacks have ceased, the insults, and general uselessness of this thread continue. Because it did not get back on track (discussing the video at hand), and continues to spiral outwards, I am locking this thread. I'm sincerely sorry for anyone wanting to have an intelligent discussion about the issue, but I'm sure you can find another thread to join.
