I have 3 photos worthy of submitting in this challenge, all so different but display bokeh very well. It's hard to know where voters would have their preference. Portrait or flowers or others in between ? Flowers are popular I've noticed, but would voters think - Oh no here we go another flower .....
Luv to here your thoughts :-) |

Submit for yourself, not for the voters. |

The voters are impossible to predict.
Submit the one you think is best and/or the one you like the best.
Over time you get acclimatized to tastes of DPC and start to get better votes.
Good votes are not the only important thing. In the end, you are doing this because you like photography, so submit the one that appeal to you.

I agree with the others. Submit what you like best. A portrait or flower could win. I don't think it's so much the subject as it is the execution. If it's good it will be voted on accordingly.

I'm in the same boat. Do I submit the (macro/blur)depth of field, or the one with circles of light? HMMM...This challenge should be interesting. |

Wonder if the voters will vote down images with bokeh foreground and background?

As long as the bokeh in the foreground, and background, enhance the image, it'll work for me. |

Ok, I am with everyone else, it is hard to figure out what everyone else thinks. Just show your mom/ husband/ boyfriend/ (fill in the blank) to get a second opinion and go with it. I find that my wife is usually right!

Makes me wonder who these 'voters' are :)
I have had a hard time trying to figure out which one is the best. I don't choose for others, but trying to figure out which one actually is the best, in my own opinion, out of the lot and to understand why. I ask questions and whichever gets the lowest negative responses wins.
If you are going by scores and placings on DPC, forget this post. |

I've generally found that I know absolutely nothing about what voters like, and the only way to stay consistently happy with one's entries is to enter photographs that please oneself. The rest seems to be a matter of luck (for most of us). |

2 schools of thought here.
Try and please everyone (which can't happen) or try and please yourself.
Funny how a number of my ribbons were shots I really didn't like, yet was in "trying to please everyone" mode. I am now only really concerned about trying to please myself and am much happier about what I am producing.

Thankyou all - I was on the same wavelength with you guys and you must please yourself first ! I've now made my decision which one to submit !
Cheers! :-)
