I am doing some lens tests..nothing fancy, just some shots of a magazine page. I accidently had left the camera set to ISO 800. I re-shot with ISO 200, both using the built in flash...2 different lenses.

It is interesting that the higher ISO has a yellowish cast to it. I'll post some pics momentarily.

This is just not something i've heard about in any camera test articles.

Hi Chris,
Was the room you were shooting in illuminated with tungsten lighting? If so, I'm pretty sure what happened is that more ambient light was recorded at ISO 800, so you see more of the much lower color temperature of the tungsten lighting.

Yes, there are 2 lights on..one regular overhead incadesent and one of those fancy flourescent looking screw in bulbs in a desk lamp....and i used flash. Duh...

ANYway, look at the above - resolution testing was the goal, and a comparison to my retiring Fuji.

The Fuji did a MUCH better job on color rendition. It is one of Fuji's strong points, and one of the 300D's weak points from the reviews i read (incomparison to the D70 anyway)

One more point of interest - the time on the second row shots - the Fuji at 5.6 took 1/60th sec, the Rebel .5 sec.

The results you get here depend strongly on the camera settings. The fuji evidently used a much higher ratio of flash (evidence the much higher shutter speed), and that's why the color rendition is so much better.

I thought about using my external flash, but that is totally manual and i was being lazy, i mean investigating the differences.

Hmmm...more of them than i had considered. No wonder i have no Ribbons, huh?

COuld be i spent the better part of the day cleaning with Clorox bleach...a flooded basement. i have probably poisoned myself in some unintended way - as opposed to the intentional kind (aka alcohol)
