Ok, the club has a new member... Now the first question I have, of many I'm sure, is how do you program your name in the EXIF data as the proud owner of a 20D?

Welcome to club BADASSSS Dave!

I'd do this via photoshop, and set the Copyright info thru it. I don't know how you can do this in the 20D.

Be aware however that if you change the EXIF in photoshop, it could show up as if it were edited, therefor would not be valid proof for DPC.

1) Make sure you have EOS Viewer Utility installed
2) Verify the Communication setting in your camera is set to Normal (not PTP, which is used for printing directly to compatible printers)
3) Plug in your camera using the provided USB cable
4) Open up EOS Viewer Utility
5) Go to the Option menu and choose Camera Settings
6) In the window that opens, type in your name (or phone number, or whatever) in the Owner's Name field then click "OK". (You can also set the date/time of your camera from this window).

This information will now be stored in the EXIF data of each image.

(The above process is similar for other Canon DSLR's.)

Great tip, Eddy - thanks!

Edit - AFter installing the software just to do this (I use a CF reader and Photoshop so must confess that I have never bothered to hook up the camera by USB before now) I also tested downloading images straight from the 20D.

All I can say is wow - downloading straight from the camera is much quicker for me. My reader might be dirt slow or something, but I thought it was USB 2.0. Either way, I will be downloading cards this way from now on if they have a lot on them.

OK, now I'm paranoid because I can't remember how I input my name into the EXIF. Can you gurus in the SC world please tell me how I can determine if my photos are DPC valid?

Thanks a million for this tip! Wasn't sure how this could be done since it's easy enough with the DRebel (in camera).

I also am a new 20D owner. Can anyone help me with this problem. I am only able to download my pictures from my camera using Adobe photoshop album 2.0 or Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8. Photoshop 6 does not recognize the source and I can only use it if I pull it from Photoshop album. Any help is greatly appreciated.
