Travelling on my own would be scary!! And boring... need someone to keep me company :) |
Scary? You're gonna be going off to uni on your own soon - I promise a day trip to London on the train would not be scary! |
I don't think it's the train journey that's the problem. I'm twice his age and still too scared to meet you on my own ; ) |
OI!
:-P
I is not skeery.
Nope.
I is cuddly and lubbly.

Anyone considered meeting somewhere other than London? I for one would be very interested in meeting in North Wales for example, or the lake district?
Although London has one up on Wales purely down to alcohol establishments.

A while back some of us talked about Brighton and other possible places and I was tentatively interested but felt someone else (who lived in that place) could organise it instead...
No one bothered so it never happened...
Just start a thread for a Wales one or elsewhere, gauge interest and away you go!!

Are you talking quality or quantity. I prefer some of the Welsh Brew to Fullers,
Although living in the West Country, I'm more of a Cider Drinker |

Yes quantity, surely not quality. Some nice rickety old pubs in Wales.
As for the West Country, lovely place in it's own right. I go there quite a bit, where do you live in Glos?

Wales would be an excellent place for a DPC meet in the summer... I'd definitely be up for camping in Snowdonia... a very photogenic place. However, it's a pain in the neck to get to and too expensive to get to and stay at considering Christmas has just passed. However, I'd be up for a DPC meet in Yorkshire/Lancashire and I'd be happy to put anybody up. The Lakes would be great in the summer (with camping), but again just a little too far right now. |

I can't make a for sure promise, but a trip up from Malta is not out of the question for March 5-6. Unfortunately, I won't know until shortly before, entirely dependent on the work schedule here, as I would have to fly on the Friday and Monday.
Better to fly into which airport?

Luton may be cheaper, and is about 30 mins direct train into London. Failing that Stansted.
Heathrow and Gatwick can be a pain

And there's a bar on the top of Snowdon! lol.
I'd be well up for a Northern GTG too. Haven't been camping since I was about 12 though :-/
Bob, did you get my PM?

Yep, sorry I haven't replied... I've got a huge queue of emails waiting to be replied to! But yes, a northern GTG would be great. We could meet in Leeds or Manchester until the weather gets good enough for a camping trip. I think we might have a spare tent as well! |

10 miles South of Gloucester.
20 Miles North of Bristol.
1 mile from the Severn, on a hill (fortunately) as when it floods, things do get rather wet

Smart man.
I've met her and I'm scared to meet her again. ;)
That might explain my reluctance to organize a Brighton GTG..
P.S. Just kidding, Kavey is quite a lovely and warm person. The most she'd do to you is pinch your bum.

OK let's narrow this down to one date.
Sat 5 Mar has 10 who are fairly definite, 3 who think the date will be OK and one who MIGHT come.
Sat 19 Mar has 10 who are fairly definite, 1 who thinks the date will be OK and one who MIGHT come.
So, according to the popular vote, Saturday March 5th wins.
Is everyone happy with that?
NOW DON'T FORGET TO PUT IT IN YOUR DIARIES!
