I guess it's just inadvisable to put in something that voters won't spend a long time studying. It seems most people missed the hidden face... Okay, there's an eye missing, but it has a nice smile, and it even has shoulders. Anyway, I hoped you liked the picture.

I definately missed it. I do remember looking though. Nice shot

I missed it too. But I still gave you a decent score. If it wasn't for the title, I would have thought the two brown cows were the eyes, and the black cow was the nose, and the water was the mouth

Not to mention the swamp monster face on the far bank below the top cow and above the 're' in 'here'. :D

For your information, Mr Pug-H, I DID spend a long time studying your photo, and even kept coming back to it.
Perhaps instead of blaming the viewers, you could have made it a little bit easier to find it.
Most other photos have THEIR hidden face as a major part of the image, whereas yours is very small and harder to find than your average "where is Waldo" pic.
Its a lovely photo, but a tighter crop would have helped your cause.

Perhaps I am in the minority that did take an inordinate amount of time to effectively study this photo, but alas, I too did not find the hidden face.

The challenge was to photograph a hidden face,,, Not make it invisible.

Easy now. No need to get so defensive. He was just showing us where it was.

I also studied it for some time, and totally missed it. Nice one. Stunning face, even. Pity it's so hard to find. Might even be a Waldo image, LOL.

Perhaps had he not initiated his attempt by attacking he audience, (which is effectively what he did with his opening comment), he would not have garnered such a response.

Boy, if people think that is being attacked, I feel sorry for them.

Perhaps I should have stated that one gains little sympathy when they blame others for their own shortcoming. I looked on repeated occasions to find the hidden face, but to no avail. To then have someone suggest that the problem lies with the voters is laughable at best.

He never blamed anyone. He said it seemed most people missed the hidden face, which obviously we did. He stated that it was inadvisable to enter something that the voters would have to spend a lot of time looking at, which obviously is true, since many people missed it and voted it lower because of that. He's making a statement, not an accusation.

I was one that didn't see the face (and probably didn't spend enough time reviewing it) and I voted it lower.

I'm glad he pointed out what I missed. We should use this as a learning experience that not all photos are not going to jump out and slap us, with an obvious subject.

What he did in fact state was :"it's just inadvisable to put in something that voters WON'T spend a long time studying"

I am sure you can understand the differences between the two, in that the latter suggests a pre-existing mindset.

In any event, you have your views in this regard and I have mine, and it would seem that we have agreed to disagree on this one issue. I for one shall move on to other issues of interest. Happy shooting to you and good luck in the next challenge.

Well, now I'm surprised. It wasn't my intention to "attack" voters; sorry if it came across that way, but that's the internet for you (something similar has come up in other threads here). I was more or less blaming myself for submitting that photo rather than one of the closeups. Anyway, I don't, at the moment, have the luxury of spending a lot of time on-line with this horrendously slow connection, so I haven't seen any of the other entries.
I'll be back home on Thursday, and look forward to perusing them, as well as voting on the current challenges.

I have just looked at it three times and it finally came out on the last. I just wasn't seeing it the others...even with it circled. Now I can see a little demon looking like face.
It is hard to find, for sure.

Maybe a little increase in contrast would have helped. Using the title to direct the viewers to me is an indication that it's not a very strong image in the first place, at least for this challenge. Otherwise it's a nice serene setting with cows.

Hidden faces maybe not seen on my entry.
