Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of the Resolution pictures are just pictures that people really wanted to submit and just came up with a title to make it fit the challenge?
I'm seeing a lot of Cigarette pics too... I hope you all stick to it! :) |

I started low 5's, shot up to over 6, and now back down to mid-high 5's! I gotta start going to bed before the voting starts! These early numbers swing so much because of overall number of votes, it's crazy! I already have two comments out of 27 votes, though, so that makes me happy.
Yeah...lots' of ciggies getting crushed for this challege. Booze and cigs seem to be big DPC vices! :) |

Hmm..... In my shot I have both xxx's & xxx along with xxxxx. Seem's I can expect a rating in the 3 to 4 range.

I cant believe its only 3 hours in and I have 4 comments. I have gad channges in the past where I only recieved once commen t over a whole week lol
I actually think in every challenge you will find a few photos that people liked so just slap a title on (to make it relivant) and enter.
I am glad that I enter the image I entered, because it is different to the others. Its in the mid 5's now, but I am getting good comments, so it could go up. Although its too easy to tell now isn't?

You may want to edit your post because there is a picture with all three items in it and you don't want to give your picture away. If thats your picture. But even if its not you should edit your post to keep from the picture suffering. Just a reminder.

Halfway through voting this challenge... and there are some absolutely stunning shots here. The only complaint is that I have to agree - it seems almost like people have treated this challenge as a free-study in which they submit their best shot with a questionably linked resolution. For that reason there are a lot of gorgeous shots I'm having a lot of trouble voting on. I don't know whether its holiday cheer but so far I'm giving most of those shots the benefit of the doubt. |

You really can't dispute what someone is saying is their resolution. I have not entered this challenge by the way, but I think you should just vote on how you see the image not on a strict interpretation of the challenge description. |

Well as I said - I'm giving people the benefit of the doubt, and the issue isn't whether they resolved to do what they are attempting to depict - I'd say a large portion of people aren't photographing their actual new years resolution (and that doesn't worry me). I wouldnt be surprised if half of the smoking entries are by non-smokers :).
Conversely, what I was trying to get at, is that there are a lot of shots which don't really represent the resolution well - but are beautiful shots nonetheless. They just seem like someone has just slapped a title on their favourite shot from the two day period and thrown it in. Of course this happens a lot, but it appears to be more prevalent in this particular challenge.
Whatever the case, and the strength of the challenge links, it certainly appears that the 48 hours this challenge ran for was a particularly fruitful photographic period for a lot of people. I've already marked a couple as favourites.

Finally I'm gonna get a ribbon! It might just be a brown one though. I knew I shouldn't have submitted but that what happens when you have update button withdrawals.

Well, apart from my resolution to win a ribbon (or 2) in 2005. I have also decided to be a little more generous with my votes and where I score 4 or less I will always comment as to why.
I didn't enter the challenge... which reminds me I must also try to 'Find more time' in 2005!
Happy new year all.
