I have my picture for the waldo challenge and in order to get it under 150k I have to save it under quality "one". is this common? is this going to effect quality? Can I do anything to fix it?

that seems a bit odd - is it possible that maybe you forgot to resize it to 640 on its maximum dimension?

Normally I can use quality 10 out of 12 in photoshop to get to 150k. What program are you using? Also, make sure you don't have a really high DPI setting and check your pixel count is within the 640 pixel limit.

Doesn't sound ok if you have already resampled the image. Use Save For Web feature if you are using Adobe Photoshop.
