Has anyone tried to dye or paint their own fabric backdrops? I found a nice wide piece of "natural" muslin at WalMart and was hoping to get a modeled dark brown. Any suggestions/techniques would be appreciated!

I've made several backdrops with muslin and ordinary Rit Dye. You can do it in a bucket or the washing machine. In the washing machine it comes out more evenly colored rather than mottled and in the bucket you have to be careful not to get the âtie-dyedâ look.
