I was challenged by another member to best my best score before the end of the year and this was my last chance. It was a basic challenge so I couldn't dodge and burn what I wanted to in order to get rid of the hot spots and am not good enough with the PS yet to just work on certain areas to still have it qualify for the basic editing rules. And yes, the neat image was applied a bit heavier than usual because it really helped blur the background and help focus on the horse and child, who really are best friends, I know, it's my daughter Ellie.
Oh well, I tried, thanks everyone for helping put a new picture on my profile page, my top 4 shots are all of my daughters, not a bad way to end my year in photography.

I thought that was a really great picture! I gave it a 9. Your daughter is very pretty and I liked the lighting :) |

Deannda- you weren't too far from achieving your goal. Nice! There is a blue cast that's a bit distracting and easily fixed, even under Basic Editing: adjust the Cyan saturation by -80 in Photoshop. Try it. ;-) |
