I'm looking into purchasing a macro lens. I'm torn between the following
Tamron f/2.8 Di 90mm
Canon f/2.8 100mm
Sigma f/2.8 105mm DG
Any opinions or preferences would be appreciated. I've seen some pictures of the Canon and Sigma but not the Tamron. If anyone has any they can post, that would be helpful. |

You may want to review the following:

A search of the Canon Lens talk forum over at dpreview.com probably will also yield lots of info.
My own humble opinion? If you are going to use it as a short telephoto/portrait lens in addition to macro work, get the Canon. Faster AF, quiet, near-L build, what's not to like? But do get the hood, it's necessary since the front element is not shaded by the lens barrel.
Good luck on the decision :)

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at dpreview. |
