Ok I will be leaving my house to photogrph a goose hunt at 6:00am it will be about 11 degrees. I have a nikon d70 and an sb-600 I will be using a nikkor 70-300mm 4.5 lens. What precations should I take. Will my lens fog up? What problems will I run into?
O yeah' what video mode should I shoot in PAL or NTSC

Put the gear in the car before you go to bed. Without batteries in. That's what I always did anyway, and never had a problem except with my eyeglasses. This might not be a good idea with arctic temperatures, I donno, but it worked fine at 25 degress fahrenheit, as cold as I ever worked.

I dont know about leaving it in the car. I have a Nikon D70 and was shooting last week at 7 Degrees and with the wind chill it was -10. I kept the camera in the house overnight. I took it to the shoot in the bag, didnt have any problems with condensation. The battery held up well. I read somewhere when returning back to the house leave the camera in the bag so it warms up gradually. |

Condensation will form on an object when it is colder than the dew point of the surrounding air. WHen the object (i.e. your cam) is warmer than the air around it, this cannot happen. As it equalizes in temperature with the air, there should still be no problem, except in the special case of shooting at night in high humidity, where dew will form because of radiative cooling.
Going from cold to warm is a different story. Do warm the camera up gradually, and limit it's exposure to open air until it does warm up some. When you bring it in, it will certainly be below the indoor dewpoint, especially if the inside air is beig humidified.

PAL or NTSC should only really have an effect if you are hooking the camera up to a TV to view the shots direct from CF.
