Seriously , yes I do see it, and all factors considered, you should have entered it.

I too think NOVA should have submitted the photo, it was pretty good.

Nova = I think that as long as the dark areas were already there then you could burn them. After looking through the submissions I think you would have done well.

Thank you both. Here, I'll show you the before and after shots and you'll see why I thought better of it. The right eye was barely there before I burned it in to enhance it. Probably DQ material, and I wouldn't have been able to say much, so better not to enter. I have noted several times elsewhere what a beginner I am at using PhotoShop Elements. I am interested to hear suggestions or input from anyone with an opinion.

I was recently in the Netherlands and on Nov 7th I was taking photos in Amsterdam of the reflections in the water. I happened upon DPChallenge just the other day and saw the current challenge "Hidden Faces". Although I understand that this photo wouldn't qualify, I believed that some may enjoy seeing it and reading about it. It changed my life and how I view the world....sometimes things jump out at you AFTER you take the photo.....I didn't even know that I captured any great images - until I viewed it in the LCD screen and almost deleted it. I had about 25 friends with me. It was amazing! Visit my site for more info...excited to here about your thoughts....I am new here and new with my great camera - Nikon D70 (I used to use a Nikon FM2 at the Daily Press when I was 16 - 18 yrs. old). I have been a photographer for a long time....but this is the first time I have had a quality digital and I am sooooooooo happy I bought it now!

Thank you,

Gina Harman

Neat shot, gina!

It's funny how an obscure face in a weird object always has to be a saint or something! Nobody would say it looks like Osama bin Laden...it must be Jesus!

It is neat, though...I think it sort of looks like a lion's face...

Dear That Cloud There,

You have now inspired me.

"I think the most enthused eyes are God's eyes for his creation so I try and make photographs with the vision of his perfect concept of beauty and truth (ugly as truth may be at times), as seen through a Creator's eyes. Weird, huh?"

Thank you!

Gina - I just love God so much that it's easy for me to jump out right towards him!

Nove and anyone else running into this problem: What you can also do, if your question is of an urgent nature re: your post processing, is look to see what SC are online at the time you are and email or PM a few of us (i suggest hitting at least 3) with your specific question. That way its sure to be seen.

I haven't seen your original, but given that we do allow dodging and burning with advanced rules, I can't see how its a major issue. Next time, gamble and submit!

At the risk of setting myself up for some abuse, I think Nova made the right decision. In looking at the original it is a BIG stretch to say there is a right eye there to enhance by burning it in. I guess we all have our own take on it and rightly so, but I feel by putting the right eye in manually goes against the nature of this challenge. Why not find any tree with a knot in it and add another one, or find a rock face with one dark spot and add another? Something about that just doesn't feel right to me in the spirit of finding a 'Hidden Face'.

That's my two cents - you can start slinging now. :-)

i shot this 'hidden face' on a party on 1600 asa/1mp not using flash to preserve colours
i remember being pretty drunk myself than
its not as 'divine' as Gina's miraculeus shot but its also a surprising interference of coincidence (as i see it)

I see the face! Isn't it amazing, the cool thing was, I didn't have to try - sometimes we get hit by circumstances and nature! I love it!-Gina

Pretty cool, kinda looks like the 'tragedy' theatrical mask.

Yesterday we went to shoot at an abandoned sanatory for Tuberculosis, and a friend took this picture. Afterwards we noticed a human shape, but there was no one around when we were shooting...
Weird!!! Don't you think?

I didn't enter but due to fatigue I had to stop voting. I got a small string of some crappy photos that just made me wanna quit voting. I will try and gt back to it later. Mind you there was a lot of very good shots as well I just don't want any to suffer from me being tired.
