Can anyone clarify this please? I've searched the forums without really finding an answer.
What I want to know is if it is legal to use external filters mounted to your camera's lens for photos submitted for challenges? Example would be starburst or center-spot soft, etc... I'm assuming it is, but would like to know for sure.
The challenge rules address filters in post-processing, and also state that manipulations WITHIN the camera are legal.
Thanks. |

as long as it's not done in post-processing (ie. on your computer), you're fine -- just be ready to submit the original if it looks too whacked out and be ready to be down-voted as well heh.

Totally legal. It's a camera related effect, not somthing added in PS.

Yes.
The post-processing section of the rules applies to just that -- post-processing. Nothing that is in your original image can trigger a disqualification under that portion of the rules.
