I took this photo on our recent trip to the Yucatan. I'd like to get any comments, good or bad. What do you think?

A larger version of this photo, and several others from our trip, can be seen in the Yucatan Gallery on my web site.

I actually like the other one better. I think it has more emotion than this straight look shot, although she certainly has the attitude look here. Great job. This would have done real well in the yellow challenge!

Thanks JB. The other shot is closer to the image that I wanted to capture, but the focus isn't as sharp as it could have been. I wish that I hadn't been so rushed.

Left you a comment on both pictures. Good shots but I think the blanket on the second one is to sharp. It overpowers the subject IMO. Good work!

Thanks for the comments Scott. I̢۪ve been trying out different sharpening techniques lately, and may have gone a little overboard on that one. For these photos I used the Smart Sharpening Photoshop action created and published by John Brownlow on luminous-landscape.com. If you visit the link you can read about the technique and download the Photoshop actions.

Excellent, excellent photography! Good image of the old woman of Progresso.

Where can I get one of those tiny little islands all to myself? :)

The Yucatan is a great place for an Oregonian to go to get away from it all this time of the year. Bet you enjoyed that!

You can say that again! I only wish we could have stayed in Belize a little longer... like maybe a year or two. :) We're already making plans to go back and do some scuba diving.

I hear that Belize has something like 1200 of those islands, scattered all over their 200+ mile barrier reef. It shouldn't be too hard to find one that you can have all to yourself for a while.

Thanks for the comments!
