Just fooling around and posted a pic showing exposure results as indicated shutter speeds were increased as indicated.

Very interisting to me is that in the is the 3rd one down is pretty much what it looked like to the natural eye. the camera wanted more shutter time to expose it like in no 4 always curious as to see results of what the camera sees compaired to what my eye sees

Could you post what the actual speeds were per pic?

This might have been better with something moving, see the blur then faster shutter none at all.

I would be more interested in knowing what metering mode you used.

The meter will alwasy try to make the subject the tone of middle grey. The can has large areas of dark blue and is generally darker in tone than middle grey. It is expected to need to underexpose the image to place the can in the tonal range it belongs.
