I'm sure I'll regret posting this, but I just had to share....
This will be the wallpaper for my wife's login when she next uses the computer. Feel free to critique etc, although it's not meant to be high-art, I just want to see what her reaction will be. :-)
For the photo-geeks (That's most of us, BTW) I took this with the 50mm F/1.8 and a Nikon SB-24 flash hanging from the ceiling. Fired it using a slave cell. Camera on a tripod with 10second self timer and the 580ex flash firing into the ceiling to trigger the 'main' flash. Everything on manual, used a flash meter to get the exposure. (The light exposure, not mine! :-) ).
Merry Xmas all, I'm off to bed, it's already the 25th here...
Cheers, Chris H. |

The file name you've chosen is rather unfortunate! ;)
Merry Christmas. |

hah... I assume she'll get a laugh out of it. I'd try to warm up the flesh tones some, unless she's into necrophilia; but how christmasy is necrophila, anyway?

:-).. Darn, didn't think about the filename. Oh well.
White balance is probably off, twas late when I did that.. Might adjust it before Kate uses the machine.
We'll have to wait till tomorrow for the reaction, we've got family descending in about 30 minutes for Xmas lunch, and I've only snuck onto the 'net to get my email fix.
Hope everyone is having a great Xmas.. edit: Unless of course you don't celebrate Xmas, in which case have a good day anyway. :-).
Cheers, Chris H.

LOLOLOL
His "real" filename is "me", he made a reduced size version to post here and called it "mesmall"... how Freudian can you get? Merry Xmas, dude.

Maybe you should rename it "Merry XXXmas"
This is fun and I'm sure she'll enjoy it! Great idea for a year when I can be sure that my hubby, and not the kids, would be logging on! |

Thanks for thinking about us weirdoes, who don't celebrate XMass! Just for that you deserve a comment ;-)
Nahhh... not just for that. At first I saw the picture without reading the added explanation, and I thought to my self "Oh my god.. what was this guy thinking?!"
Then I saw the title and giggles a bit.
And then I went to read what you wrote, and just laughed out loud!
I think it's a great one and I'm sure your wife will love it!
In any case, I would love to hear what she thought.
Have a marry XMass!!

Ummm, I think you'll find we're the weirdos. Only about 30% of the world population celebrate Xmas in the quasi-commercial, fat guy in a red hat, sense... You're in the majority. :-).

I'm waiting with baited breath as well...
Anyway, the relatives have arrived (Late, that's what families are for) so I'd better get off the computer and be a good host.
Cheers, Chris H.

Very cute, Chris, and you're looking scrumptious!
Just hope your wife won't turn on the computer to show Grandma something. |

That is just what I was thinking ... only around here it someone asking her if they could jump on for a bit to get their email fix. One of the many reason I have a quest login. :D
Hope she enjoys it -- just not with the house full of relatives. :p

Morning folks...
Well, Kate logged in this morning to check her email.
I was at the other end of the house and heard the laughing from there... :-).
And no, the relatives didn't get a free viewing, although they would have probably coped quite well as they're used to us being a little 'odd'.
Cheers, Chris H.

You wouldn't say that if you saw mine.

I hope that "it" refers to the card. :) |
