I seem to remember reading something saying not to use solvents like Windex and such to clean Flat Panels. I have horrible fingerprint grime all over the thing and can't seem to find anything to get the gunk gone.
Any Suggestions?

Well, my girlfriend works at a local sunglass store so I personally use the sprays they recommend for sunglasses. They were made to be used on delicate glass with anti-reflective coatings. I've yet to see any negative impact to my Dell 1901fp LCD monitor. |

I was told to use water and a paper towel.
And I do.
And it did! |

i usually use something that̢۪s alcohol based instead of water based.
this way, if used sparingly, it will evaporate without the need of drying and it will not leave any marks.
edit: can't type

Apple's recommendations for cleaning LCD screens.
Alcohol (maxj's suggested cleaner) may work better than well, since it likely dissolves the screen along with any stains on it. :-(
