He he... if I GET it I'll eat it... I'm just saying I can do without it and I'd rather they spend their money on something more important to me! BUT I can ALWAYS eat chocolate!

I won an e-bay auction for a Zeiss 75mm f/1.5 Biotar. It's in M42 screw mount so I should be able to use it with the adapter I already have for my Peleng fisheye. The price was right if it's in the condition it looks. It's an uncommon lens, even more so in M42 mount (most were made in Exakta mount) and it is very well thought of, even for Zeiss glass. Oh, and did I mention fast?

Nice lens! Congrats. I'm in with Santa so he already brought my new D-70 w/ Nikon kit lens, a Tamron AF28-300mm F3.5/6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro lens, and all the other goodies! Yahoo! Hey, don't you just love all the acronyms attached to the title of that lens. : ) |

Easy: reverse the 17-40L @ 17mm in front of my sigma 105mm and get 6.2:1 magnification. Easy as pie.

Hey Jacko - I'm pretty lame at that stuff. How do you figure the magnification number when doing those combos? |

I can't even afford the 50mm 1.8 Mk II....but I got one anyways. Should be arriving any minute. :) | [/quote]
Sorry, that should be 50mm 1.8 II (some refer to it as 50mm 1.8 MkII though). //canon.ca/english/index-products.asp?lng=en&prodid=91&sgid=7&gid=2&ovr=1

Divide the focal length of the main lens (attached to the camera) by the focal length of the lens that is reversed in front of it.

Woot, Woot! Way to go Jacques! You're going to love that lens. It's by far my favorite lens to use. :-) Love the contrast.
No new toys for me, except maybe a used film body. Any suggestions?

I've got some bad news....
Looking at the photos on the auction, it looks like there's a huge hole down the middle of the lens. It'll let too much light in. :-).
Cheers, Me.
edit: forgot: No more new toys for Xmas, got the camera a wee while ago. Maybe a lens in the new year, but will have to finance it if I do, and I'm not keen on that option...
